I currently own a couple Harley’s, an 02 Softail Deuce, and a 57 Sportster (first year the XL was ever sold as a Sportster in fact!)
Have a handful of other bikes as well, and the wife has a Ducati Scrambler.
Now I also have this Svartpilen 701, and the stoke is high on this one!
I remember when these Pilens first hit the shows as a…[Read more]
Ok thanks for the tip on posting photos. Yeah, mine were too large.
I work with many parts that are prototypes pieces 3D printed of various material, and just from dealing with these, they crack and break so often I’d very rarely trust it for anything critical…
Atleast yours won’t be exposed to UV degradation inside the throttle housing,…[Read more]
Yeah the bronze is definitely a nice touch on the 401
I’m realizing more and more now that CNC machined is not always better, and often looks cheaper now days with the availability of mass produced Chinese goods.
I don’t think it would be an improvement on this bike unless many cnc parts were added, like triple clamps and everything.
Remove the small screw on the backside of the turn signal indicator. Remove the clear lense. Then remove the silver reflector housing and you’ll see how that part has a channel which slides over and attaches to the mounting stalk. This is the reason you can’t just “push” it back on without disassembly.
This comes apart like this as a saf…[Read more]
There’s certain stages in product design and development where you “cost down” and the budget side of things begin to dictate what is not necessary to hit a certain profit margin and what is necessary in order to retain the function, design, and consumer appeal, etc.
Costs probably unexpectedly rose in other areas for various reasons from…[Read more]
Yeah, I added 2 of the Ducati Multistrada 1260 spacers to my G2 throttle tube and it is smoooooooth! Still honestly has very slight side to side play, but that doesn’t bother me since it doesn’t affect response.
@Nampus What material is the spacer made from? Hopefully not 3D printed and, since that can crumble and jam up your throttle.
@Max Kool, no I was wondering about the stocker silencer as shown in this thread.
The lines of the stock can really grew on me, it fits the design of the bike very well. But just weighs a lot, and too quiet.
I have the Akra header, not the slip-on.
I also have the Comp Werkes slip-on, but it is not compatible with the Akra header…

I haven’t seen one specifically for the Husqy 701 Pilens. But would also be lightly interested.
Probably be able to find some Duke 690 titanium headers, but may need to change the whole system to match because the Cat is probably different.

Anxious to see the difference in weight between the wheels.
I also put a Duke 690 exhaust on mine.

What’s better than the 701?
Or… What better, than to own more than one bike!
The 701 is an awesome bike for its mix of characteristics. Balance, agility, response, lightweight, simplicity, and of course design!
It is not a power bike, so I’m not sure why anyone would buy or own one if that is a major criteria in your riding…
I also see…[Read more]
Here’s their 401 parts, scroll down.
Wunderkind makes what looks like some really nice slim turn signals for the 401.
I’m running some Motogadget m.blaze pin on the rear, and some random small aftermarket fronts from a ducati scrambler on the front of my 701.
Are they any lighter than the stock metal ones?
If someone were to fabricate a bracket to be able to mount these without the catalytic converter that would be incredible!
Going to decat, but will miss these panels from the overall design appearance!
This is my new favorite thread here! 😊
I’ll try to add to the info.
I cannot host photos here, but on my gram scale I measured the weights for the following parts:
OEM original turn signal (w/ nut & washers) = 95g /ea.
OEM brass weighted bar-ends = 427g /pair
Husqvarna Option small bar-end plugs = 58g /pair
OEM fork reflectors = 31g…[Read more]
