I got the letter too. To be fair, it may be especially difficult to bring an update to market given the pandemic – none of the engineers are around to design the fix, and getting it produced will be difficult.

I just put up a post in an older gas leak thread – my dealer in the US got notification of the recall on 25 March

At about 6500 miles, my tank started leaking. The tank had been fine since May 2018. I rolled it out of the garage onto the driveway to check the tires, and I’m embarrased to admit, charge the battery. I came back with my airhose and saw a puddle that hadn’t been there a minute ago. No puddles or trails from the garage.
Found gas leaking down…[Read more]

I would buy a set of 701 stickers. Also, I’d like a copy of the .ai files to see what else I could come up with…

When I put new signals on my bike, I cut off the adapters and soldered them. Problem solved.
I got the exact same relay from amazon. It’s a direct fit. The relay is tucked in under the tank and towards the right (throttle) side of the bike.

I agree with Heisenberg. The gauge does feel consistent when I factor in how hard I’m riding. The bike barely sips any gas just cruising around gently, but once I start yanking the throttle around the mileage drops fast.

Just happened to me while I was in stopngo traffic on the highway. Only a little bit terrifying! ๐ 2018 Bike has 5400 miles on it.
My shop is replacing it under warranty, but the parts are backordered for approximately four weeks! ๐

I don’t know why he didn’t take it out into the twisties and open it up. Maybe he didn’t have it long enough to have to wait for better weather, or they couldn’t figure out how to make the shots work inside the parameters of the screenplay. But he really sold himself – and his viewers – short by missing out on how brilliant this thing is outside…[Read more]

Can confirm it’s a PITA to print out relevant pages to take out to the garage ๐
I ended up taking screenshots, then putting them into a document that I printed.

http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/husqvarna/2018-husqvarna-vitpilen-701-first-ride-review.html has a chart that shows them taking it up to ~9k on their dyno.

Some Guy replied to the topic So whatโs the actual redline in the forum Vitpilen 701 Technical Forum 3 years, 9 months ago
p71 of the User Guide says 7800rpm after the first 600 miles.
I set my RPM1 indicator to 7200 and my RPM2 indicator to 7500, and I rarely light it up – it’s well past the max torque at those RPMs, so I’ve already shifted.
When I’ve done ‘speed runs’ I didn’t light up the indicators when I was topped out. RPMs were upper 6k at that point.

I’m doing my own service too, but the shop has to verify your work and then document the work with Husqvarna. Also, the only way to turn off the service indicator is via the Husqvarna diagnostic computer.
I took photos of the oil change, and documented all the measurements etc required for the service. Then I took the bike to the shop and showed…[Read more]

It’s in the user manual. Also, the work needs to be documented by a shop to Husqvarna to keep the warranty valid.

I can’t speak to the veracity of all the details in this article, but it’s the most complete assesment of the KTM rumors I’ve found.
