Those were just old grips I had lying around. I don’t remember where I got them but I got rid of them in any case. I have leather wraps on that bike now.

@shards Steve, where did you get the info about the smaller capacity in replacement tank? Can you link here?

Qwandree replied to the topic Dynojet Power Commander V in the forum Vitpilen 701 Parts & Accessories 1 year, 12 months ago
On a side not after some miles post power commander – it seems the quick shifter isn’t as smooth as before, it takes a little more effort from the foot to complete the shifts.
I‘ve been running a pcv with that same map and the Leo Vince link pipe for a while now and personally haven’t noticed anything different with the qs.

Around noon, I passed a 701 and 401 riding together, just ahead of the road construction area before the ACF turn off. I was riding my street triple that day.
Had to be someone(s) from here….
Could it be?Wave!

Qwandree replied to the topic Keep catalytic shrouds with decat? in the forum Vitpilen 701 Parts & Accessories 2 years ago
I don’t know of anyone successfully doing that. The belly pan mounts directly on the cat. The decat link pipes are significantly smaller and narrower than the cat (at least mine is).
A bracket could probably be fabbed and welded but I don’t think you’d find any existing aftermarket parts for the arrow system.

While I deeply prefer the stripped-down, Ducati-esque decat/link pipe look, I gotta say that’s pretty nice. Wonder what it weighs.

These came up a couple of months ago here, but I couldn’t find the original thread. Anyway, I have them on my Thruxton R and they are pretty nice for cleaning up throttle slop on that bike. Prices seem to have gone up though …[Read more]

Qwandree replied to the topic Leaky gas tank recall in Canada in the forum Vitpilen 701 General Discussion 2 years, 3 months ago
I put this in the other gas leak thread, but there is a service bulletin/recall of some sort and you can check for it on your bike here:

There is indeed a service bulletin, don’t know if it is for the tank.
You can check for these on your own bike if you have your VIN handy here:

Qwandree replied to the topic Custom 701 seat in the forum Vitpilen 701 Parts & Accessories 2 years, 4 months ago
This was how I did mine in leather through a local shop. I thought about doing yellow stretching but he didn’t have anything the matched perfectly and I was also worried about it fading (I went with silver contrast stitching). He managed to put a small gel insert it in even though the seat is so thin.
It’s very straightforward but I love it.

Looks mint mate. That exhaust is sexy, is that a new header? I have considered those 690 crash bars several times but 8lbs is too much for me.
Btw… are you running pink levers?

It’s still probably not the answer you are looking for but I am almost positive you could flat trade spoked wheels for mags to someone here on this forum.

The 701 is very easy to wrench on, and like stroem mentioned it’s just a tricked out duke 690 and there are tons of youtube videos etc out there as well as ktm forums with infos about all sorts of stuff on the 690. The 701 is packed very tight however, so anything electrical is a pain to deal with. But oil changes are as easy as on any…[Read more]
