Hey guys, just basically the title.

I was just looking to get one of these – found one in my area for a decent price.

I was wondering about the subreddit’s thoughts on getting these used. I’m a little wary of getting an early year bike from a manufacturer that only really started making street bikes this year – I’ve seen some people complain about electronics, but a lot of people seem to have issues sub 1000 miles.

Given that the overwhelming majority of 401 riders seen to be having a blast, anything I should look out for aside from the norm?

    Thanks!

This is a reworked KTM assembled in the KTM factory with parts from Bajaj, the world’s third largest motorcycle manufacturer. They aren’t new at this, but it still is a KTM, so high maintenance. Other than electrical gremlins, you need to make sure the valve clearance is checked at 1000km. Other than that, it’s like buying any other used motorcycle, look it over to see if it’s been maintained well, like chain tension, chain is lubed, tire wear etc.

Great, thanks! I’ll keep a mind to look for electric issues
