Hey everyone, new to this forum.

I’m buying a 401 this tuesday and I test drove the bike today. It seems the seat height is a bit tall for me (I’m 5’6) does anyone know how much lower you can adjust the rear shock while staying within factory limits? And do you have to lower the front bars as well?

    Hi there,

Probably not a lot (a few mm’s to a cm), not sure this is your best option if you want to lower the bike. However if I was to try I would lower the fork as much as I did the rear to keep the geometry as close to standard as possible.

I’m 5’6 and feel OK on the bike, are you going to do a lot of city riding, stopping at traffic lights etc..?

yeah primarily street riding and spirited drives. Im coming from a drz400sm that ive lowered and although the bike sits higher than the vitpilen i can get more foot on the ground than the vit.
