How to raise the bike for maintenance

    This might be a dumb question but… how do you all raise the bike to work on it?

    I am changing the gearing, both front and back, as many have suggested to do so here.  We’re also removing the lowering link that was added by the previous owner.

    Do you have a special jack that raises the bike up?  Do you put the bike on blocks?

    Hey, enjoiful!

    I just stumbled across this. There are several ways to do this.
    If you want to rise it really high for relaxed working, you get a ramp and roll the bike onto a table. Make sure to properly secure it, though.

    You can also use paddock stands to just lift up the rear, which should be enough for what you want to do. You can also combine both.

    Lastly, you can use a central stand like this:
