    pipe 2pipe 1

I took my 401 in to an automotive exhaust shop in Missoula Montana. He was able to bend a pipe which replaces the catalytic converter and the first muffler which is normally located in the, what should we call it… “The A-hole of the swingarm”???

So, we utilized the stock header with the sensor and sensor mount. the technician bent the pipe to go between the stock header and the aftermarket Akropovic exhaust.

He did it for a little over $200. I think it looks really good. Maybe with a little road wear, it will develop a patina to help them blend in with the original pipe. But who cares it looks pretty good!

Looks good, if you don’t want to see it you can paint it with a black heat resistant paint. That will make it blend with the rest of the black engine/frame

I don’t mind the bits to look natural.  We’ll see what happens over time!!

<p style=”text-align: right;”>How is your 401 doing with the pre-muffler delete? How is the performance? How many Km have you done since fitting it? Any issues, wanting to do the same to mine</p>
