Hi,

I have a 2019 Vitpilen 701, and have a few questions regarding the break in period.

Is the bike limited to only 4th gear during break in? I cant get passed 4th gear. the bike has only 800kms on it.

I’m worried I bought a lemon. I’ve had many problems with this bike since I’ve bought it (can bus failure between cluster and ecm, clutch slave failure, battery that only lasted 1 year, fuel sending unit failed, and abc/tc issues.

Did any of you experience this during break in?

You should be able to shift into all gears. If it is not capable of shifting into 5th and 6th there is likely an internal problem, possibly with the shift drum indexer. Have you EVER been able to access 5th and 6th?

This part was upgraded on the 690 motors but was not changed on the 701 engines. Unfortunately your dealer will have to address this. Hopefully you are still in warranty.
