    Sup guys

I was wondering if riding without the airbox lid or with a coober-style lid without an ECU would be
damaging the engine or not. I removed the lid and revved the engine a little bit to test how it would
sound and I really liked the louder induction noise.
But I also heard some mixed opinions about whether the engine will run too lean thus damaging it
in the long term or not.

What is your opinion on this?

    Thanks in advance.

Removing the airbox lid on the 401 models means you are pulling totally unfiltered air into the engine, so not good.   I would do the vented (filtered) lid and the ECU if it was me to be on the safe side of lean….

That’s another no for running without air filter. Check these out as an alternative to the coober, came across them on a KTM forum.

As Gavin said, Coober ECU or alternatively something like this.
